Compressed air filter selection method and related technical parameters

Compressed air filter is a compressed air carrying harmful substances such as

dust, oil, rust and water into the first stage of compressed air filter

filtration device. Its characteristics are compressed air precision oil

removal filter combined with oil removal, deodorization, dust removal function

as one; can remove 99.9% of oil mist, can lock the oil mist concentration

below 0.01ppm.


Working principle


1、The compressed air which contains dust, oil, rust and water and other

harmful substances enters the first stage filter of compressed air filter.


2、When the compressed air passes through the first stage of the cartridge

mesh filter core to produce the agglomeration effect, the larger particles

will be adsorbed on the filter material, and the water will condense into

larger droplets.


3, into the separation chamber, the compressed air speed slowed down, so that

the particles once again gathered, water mist again condensed in a honeycomb-

shaped water collector.


4、Water laden with impurity particles flows along the bottom to the drainage

device, which is discharged through the automatic or electric drainage valve.


5、More than 95% of the water droplets, oil and large particles in the

compressed air have been filtered out by the first filter element, and the

compressed air after the first stage filtration enters the second stage filter

element.


6、When the compressed air passes through the fiber filter made of special

cotton in the second stage, thousands of small vortexes will be generated,

while the compressed air will be accelerated tens of times, and the center of

the vortex will be like a tornado, forming a vacuum, and the water droplets

not filtered in the first stage will be gasified, converted and filtered out

again, while the particles as small as 5 microns will be completely removed by

the second stage filter.


7、After two stages of filtration to achieve a clean, dry compressed air

without dust, rust, oil and water droplets, to protect the normal operation of

pneumatic equipment and extend the service life of pneumatic equipment.


Compressed air filter selection method:


1、Select the type of filter. According to the different objects of

filtration, choose different types of filters. For example, the filter in the

front of the dryer, shall choose the primary filter to filter the liquid

water, oil and impurities in the compressed air; the filter installed in the

back of the dryer, should choose a high-precision filter to filter the dust in

the compressed air.



2, according to the required treatment of air flow QV (converted to the

standard state) to choose the corresponding specifications of the filter. The

relationship between the rated flow rate QO of the selected filter and the

actual processing flow rate Qr should be as follows: Qr≤QO. Technical

parameters of compressed air filter: In determining the compressed air filter,

the general practice is to identify a reliable supplier, then list the

required performance and allow the manufacturer to choose the ordering method

(filter size, surface area, structure, design, etc.).
